Press Kit
Ann Page is the author of four picture books, A Christmas Dream for [Me], Maggie’s Christmas Ride, Chester’s Christmas List, and Chester’s Christmas Visit. She started writing children’s books after hearing A Cup of Christmas Tea on the radio. Tom Hegg’s lyrical story inspired Ms. Page to try writing something other than the educational materials she writes for her day job. Ms. Page is a writer/editor and a former math teacher. She thinks writing in rhyme is like “math with words”. Ms. Page tries out all her new stories on nieces, nephews, and neighbor kids who “don’t candy-coat their comments”. Ms. Page grew up in Prior Lake, MN where her grandfather (Dennis Simpkins) used to write quirky rhymes and publish them in the local newspaper. “I like to think I’m keeping his spirit alive,” she says. Ms. Page is a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) and several other writers’ organizations. In the summer months, Ms. Page and her husband can usually be found on Lotus Lake at their home in Chanhassen, Minnesota. You can learn more at www.AnnPageAuthor.com.
