I swim and heel and take commands.
I preen under my master’s hands. How lucky is the family That gets to have a dog like me. I guess I wasn’t standing guard Because a tortoise crossed my yard. And what a silly sight he made Lumbering over each grass blade. I can fetch and bark and run. I have more skills than anyone. His legs can’t run. His tail can’t wag. His head looks like an old tea bag. Then the biggest shame of all Is the heavy shell he’s forced to haul. He doesn’t have my shiny coat But I don’t really want to gloat. Cut him a break and let him hide In the next cool dark approaching tide.

I want to find a friend today
but don't know where to look. What if I think you'll do just fine but you don't take the hook? I want someone to play with me. Could that someone be you? I'll know if you smile back at me when I smile at you. :) Old Snivelus Slump was not happy at all.
His 401-k was still stuck in free fall. His job could be outsourced now any old day. His middle class status was slipping away. Was he at the lowest point of this rough time? Could Snivelus hope that a new day would shine? Instead of just sitting ‘round feeling depressed, Old Slump crossed his fingers and hoped for the best. Oh, mac and cheese, I love you
more than anyone. Your golden gooey goodness warms me like the sun. The creamy burst of flavor makes my taste buds soar. Your smooth and slippery noodles make me beg for more. You fill my belly up to keep me satisfied. I couldn't like you any more even if I tried. And when my plate is empty, I beg my mother please to give me one more round of yummy mac and cheese! Find a rock that's pancake flat
with sides as smooth as gloss. Look out at the silent lake and launch the rock across. See it skip along the line where air and water meet. It taps atop the surface to its own peculiar beat. When the journey's over, the rock will quickly sink to find its stony friends at the bottom of the drink.
